Self-care is an important part of one’s daily wellness routine. It allows one to find joy within, to quiet the outside world, and to attune with a higher Self that is alive and eager to make its appearance in your beautiful world. This is where we can begin to understand the connection part of Restore and Connect Wellness.

I believe that self-care is a spiritual practice. Yes, when the word spiritual is spoken, it is often associated with religion, but that’s not my connection. I believe that when I press pause on so-called life on a daily basis, I find why I love living this thing called life. Life is what we make it and we learn to make it by what we see and what we’re taught by our families, our friends, television and media, books, institutions such as schools and governments. But these people and entities DO NOT know what is best for us! Only you know what’s best for you and you experience that by discovering who you are, learning to listen from within, and restoring your body through nutrition, movement, meditation, and sleep.

Once you begin to allow yourself any amount of time just for you to do something that will bring you closer to your true north, you might begin to feel that there is something more to life, something more than just the monotony of the day-to-day. For when we take time for ourselves on a daily basis by doing something that brings us joy or provides us a sense of peace, those moments bring us closer to the source far greater than any other moment.
